JAKARTA, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- China won the silver of the men's taekwondo team poomsae at the 2018 Asian Games here on Sunday.

South Korea took the gold, while the bronze medal went to Vietnam and the Philippines.

Kang Minsung added the second gold for South Korea by winning the men's individual poomsae, while Defia Rosmaniar of Indonesia snatched the first gold for the host by beating Salahshouri Marjan of Iran in the final of the women's individual poomsae.

Later on, Thailand grabbed the gold of the women's team poomsae by beating South Korea to the second place.

Taekwondo is a Korean martial art that emphasizes skill, strength, and speed of kick. It was first introduced in Asian Games in 1986, but missed the 1990 Beijing Asiad.

The 18th Asiad will stage 465 events out of 40 sports, among which 330 events from 32 sports will feature in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The 2018 Asian Games, attracting more than 10,000 athletes, will run through Sept. 2.
