BEIJING, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- Italy clinched the gold medal in the 3,000m team obstacle course racing - the final event of the 2025 UIPM Obstacle World Championships - in Beijing on Saturday, marking the end of the four-day competition.
Each team in the event consisted of three athletes, with no age or division restrictions but at least one member of a different gender. A total of 23 teams participated this year.
Unlike the 100m and 400m events, the 3,000m event is held on an urban course inside the National Olympic Sports Center, featuring 20 obstacles - more than the 12 set in the shorter-distance events. In the team competition, athletes are allowed to assist one another while overcoming designated obstacles.
Italy claimed the gold medal in 38:01, followed by the Denmark-Netherlands joint team in 38:34. ■
