JERUSALEM, July 6 (Xinhua) -- Former NBA and EuroLeague champion Elijah Bryant has signed a three-year contract with EuroLeague side Hapoel Tel Aviv, according to a statement released by the Israeli club on Sunday.
The 30-year-old American, who plays guard and small forward, won the 2021 NBA title with the Milwaukee Bucks.
He then spent four seasons with Turkish side Anadolu Efes, with whom he won the EuroLeague title in 2022, beating Real Madrid in the final, before adding the Turkish Super League title the following season.
Before joining the NBA, Bryant had spells with Israeli sides Hapoel Eilat and Maccabi Tel Aviv, winning the Israeli Super League championship with the latter in 2020.
His EuroLeague record includes 193 games in six seasons with Maccabi and Efes, averaging 9.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists.
According to several Israeli sports media outlets, Bryant will earn approximately 8 million U.S. dollars over the duration of his contract.
"The project built at Hapoel Tel Aviv particularly intrigued me - the vision, the ambition, and the desire to succeed at the highest levels," Bryant said.
Hapoel head coach Dimitrios Itoudis added, "Bryant is a versatile player of the highest level. He can contribute in multiple positions and perform a variety of roles, offensively and defensively." ■
