HANOI, July 5 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam recorded a trade surplus of 7.63 billion U.S. dollars in the first half of this year, the National Statistics Office said on Saturday.
The country's total import-export turnover reached 432.03 billion dollars during the cited period, marking a year-on-year increase of 16.1 percent.
Exports rose by 14.4 percent, while imports surged by 17.9 percent compared to the same period last year.
Nine export items reported a turnover of over 5 billion dollars, including computers, electronic components, textiles, leather products and timber. ■
